Ready to get cooking for Shabbat? Don’t know if you have what it takes for challah baking? This Paleo Challah recipe will have you feeling like a baking pro in no time, and provides an extra healthy challah option for the shabbat dinner table! This recipe is also nut allergy friendly and includes no nut or coconut flours!

Here are your Paleo friendly ingredients:


And here are the instructions! 

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F and grease a baking sheet.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, olive oil, honey, and apple cider vinegar.

  3. In another bowl, mix together the cassava flour, baking soda, and salt.

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well to create a stiff/sticky dough.

  5. Knead a few times on a cassava floured surface.

  6. Divide into 3 sections and roll into 3/4" thick ropes.

  7. Braid the ropes together, pressing the ends to hold together.

  8. Transfer to baking sheet.

  9. Brush with egg white.

  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes.


And voila! Break into a piece of this delicious challah and welcome the Sabbath bride in with open arms. Shabbat Shalom!
